Relax Eyes

Sit in a chair with eyes open, head erect.  Following ten minutes of relaxation in this position, look up for about fifteen seconds without moving the head.  Note that tension in the eyeball region.

 

Now relax the eyes completely, letting them go limp in their sockets.  Observe that when the eyes are completely relaxed they simply are not looking in any direction. Now:

  • Look down for fifteen seconds. Note the tension in the eyeball region. Let the eyes go completely, and relax for about five minutes.
     

  • Look to the left for fifteen seconds.  Note the tension in the eyeball region.  Relax the eyes.
     

  • Look to the right for fifteen seconds. Note the tension in eyeball region.  Let the eyes go completely and relax for about five minutes.
     

  • Look straight forward for one minute.  Note the static tension in the eyeball region.  Let the eyes go completely. Relax for remainder of period.
