Massage helps muscles relax.
Physiologically, massage stimulates the flow of blood and improves
muscle
tone. It assists in the clearing away of waste products, reduces
muscular tension and its associated pain.
It does far more than this, however. During massage there is a
subtle calming down of the whole body, a reduction of anxiety, and a
feeling of trust develops enabling the receiver to feel rather than to
think. It offers recuperative rest from the turbulence of stress.
